Xiaomi Mi 7 To Come With A Feature Never Seen On A Mi Phone Before; Launch Expected By Mid 2018

Xiaomi is all set to come up with the successor of Mi 6 in the first half of 2018. The smartphone monikered as Mi 7 will be released way ahead of its formal release date. The phone is speculated to feature a bezel-less display to counter recently launched mid-range bezel-less phones including Vivo V7 and Vivo V7+.

Xiaomi Mi 7 Specifications and Features

The Xiaomi Mi 7 will feature a 6.01-inch OLED display which is significantly larger than this year’s Mi 6. The display will come with a screen resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9. The phone will be powered by Qualcomm’s highly anticipated 845 SoC, which is to be unveiled next month.

The Mi 7 will come with a dual camera setup on the rear with a resolution of 16-megapixels and an aperture of f/1.7 that suggests better light photography than its predecessor. The camera is also expected to add features like portrait mode and an enhanced Bokeh mode along with optical zoom facility making use of the twin camera setup.

The device is expected to come with 6GB of RAM and an expandable internal storage of 64GB. The battery on the new Mi phone is expected to be 3350mAh, similar to its predecessor.

Xiaomi will be introducing wireless technology on the new Mi phone. The company has already launched two bezel-less smartphones – Mi Mix and Mi Mix 2. Both the devices look the incredibly beautiful and have ceramic back panel. The Mi 7 is rumoured to come with glass back panel to enable wireless charging.

The Mi 7 is rumoured to come with a price tag of CNY 2,699 (roughly Rs 26,500) and will be released in the company’s homeland, China next year.
