Both the phones are said to be the iteratively updated models of the existing Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+.
A recent report by SamMobile, the Samsung Galaxy S9 will come with an extremely high screen to body ratio of 90 per cent. Both upcoming phones by Samsung are expected to house even thinner bezels and will be an almost bezel-less phone. According to the report, the phone will come with almost non-existent chin and extremely narrow bezels at the top to house all the sensors.
There are several reports regarding the launch of Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ that point out towards the different dates. A popular tipster, @evaleaks reported that both the devices will make their debut at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) next year, which is scheduled for the next week of January. There are other reports floating on the web that claim that the South Korean giant may launch the devices during MWC in February or when it launched Galaxy S8 this year i.e. in the month of March.
The phone was recently leaked in a render by the BGR. The leaked image showcased the design of the new phone. The phone is seen under a cover in the image, which shows a front frame identical to the Galaxy S8 but the back panel design reveals a different phone.

2 days agoAll we could derive about the Galaxy S9 from the leaked image was that the phone will feature a dual camera setup on the rear placed vertically, unlike the Galaxy Note 8 that houses two camera sensors placed horizontally. The fingerprint sensor has been shifted to below the camera setup from side of the camera. The flash lies between the camera setup and the fingerprint sensor.
The sensors are expected to sit on the top of the screen and there will also be a Bixby button on both the phone. The design of the phone is almost similar to the this year’s flagship smartphone instead of the back panel. Out of the two, Galaxy S9+ might be the only device with a dual camera setup. The Galaxy S9, codenamed as SM-G950 is expected to come with 5.8-inch display while the Galaxy S9+, codenamed as SM-G965 is expected to come with a 6.2-inch display.
