The year 2017 has been great for Samsung when it comes to flagship smartphone and consumers response. Earlier Samsung introduced S8 and S8+ this year and it is clear fan following broke the pre-order records in the US and South Korea. While in India, the Samsung S8, S8+ and Note 8 was released with Bixby but without voice option. At the time of release, the company officials declared that Bixby voice will be available for India from September 22 and they stand on their statement clearly.
Samsung said that they are optimizing the Bixby according to every Indian accent so that it can give a proper response to every Indian accent. Brand officials stated “ At Samsung, we listen to our consumers and bring in meaningful innovations that help make their lives better. With Bixby, the phone adapts to you and not the other way around. It’s smarter way to use your phone and get more done. Keeping in mind the diversity of Indian accents and our commitment to ‘Make for India’, Bixby has been optimized to understand Indian accents.”
Bixby Voice has already launched in US and European markets earlier this year. The four core features of Bixby are – the ability to talk to Bixby, the recommendation of the product, to set a reminder, and to take pictures. It also offers “Quick Commands” that allows users to generate custom voice command shortcut. The user can activate Bixby by pressing the dedicated button on Note 8, 8 and 8+, or by simply saying, “ Hi, Bixby.”

Like for example, If a user clicked a picture and then command Bixby to “ Send the picture just taken to Mom.” Bixby will automatically understand the cross-application command and will know that about which photo user is talking about and it follows the command. This simple language understanding makes it more user-friendly and intuitive. With the time Bixby will get improve to recognize the regular user preference and way of speaking.
Samsung Bixby is not available for all range of its smartphone, unlike Apple’s “Siri” and Google’s Assistant. But Samsung manufactured all the smartphone that supports Google Assistant. We are expecting that Samsung will soon bring Bixby for all range of its smartphone in near future, let’s see what will Samsung do for their other smartphone users.
