Motorola, on August 29 revealed two of its latest smartphones: the Moto G5s and G5s Plus. Mr. Anuj Sharma, Head of marketing for Motorola took us through the entire specifications of these two devices.
With the growth of technology, the smartphone users have significantly increased by 3.7% according to a recent report from IDC. This year about 122 million smartphones are predicted to be sold which is a 7% hike over the years. Among these 122 million, most of the smartphone users go for the range of $200 to $300. The Smartphone market grows by 20% every year.
Among these competing manufacturers, Motorola came up with its first gen phone, the Moto G on 2014 that changed the entire perspective of the smartphone world. Since then Motorola has launched five generations of the Moto G.
Let us have a closer look on both the devices:
Moto G5s
This is a special edition device for the Motorola G5. Talking about the specifications, the G5s will feature a full metal body which is extruded out of a single metal block. It will be integrated with a 5.2” display with Corning’s Gorilla glass 5. The G5s will feature a 16MP PDAF rear camera and a 5MP front camera with flash. It will come with a 1.5GHz Qualcomm processor, 4GB RAM, 32GB internal memory, 3000mAh battery and a Turbo charger for faster charging. Moto G5s Plus
This one is an upgraded version of the Moto G series for an entirely new experience. G5s Plus will be available in two color options: Lunar Gray and Blush gold. The Blush Gold color is an exclusive addition to the Moto G series.In addition to that, the Moto G5s Plus will feature a bigger display, premium metal body and the iconic Moto design that makes Motorola different from other smartphones. Motorola has also kept its Moto dimple which is not at all easy to carve in a single metallic block. But as we all know Motorola can go to extreme limits when it comes to satisfying its users.
To talk about its specifications, the G5s Plus comes with a 2.4 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon Octa core processor. It will be available in a single variant which is the 4GB RAM/64GB internal memory. In addition to that, the most awaited feature of the Moto G5s Plus is its 13 MP dual camera. It will come with a 13MP+13MP Dual rear camera with Monochrome, RGB setup, 3D depth Sensor for real depth in your photographs.
The camera will also have a Professional mode which is exclusively for those who have real knowledge about photography. The Pro mode will allow the users to set the Aperture ratio, adjust the focus and much more.

Moving on to the front, as mentioned earlier it has an 8MP front camera with flash enabled. Some of the new features added to the front camera are Beautification, Pro Mode, and Panorama. The Pro-mode again allows you to edit your selfies and add extra effects for DSLR-like photography. The Panorama mode combines different Selfies in one and allows you to cover a wider angle.
The Moto G5s Plus has a 5.5-inch display again with Corning’s gorilla glass 5, a 3000mAh battery, Android 7.1.1 and Moto display. The Moto display and Moto Notifications are again a signature of Motorola. Another addition to the Moto G5s Plus is a feature termed as “Night display”. The night display basically eliminates white light emission and this allows you to sleep better. You can adjust the timings for turning on the Night display.
