The Bengaluru-based e-commerce major started its Big Billion Days sale on Wednesday offering great discounts and offers on various products including the electronics segment. The company claims to have sold 1.3 million smartphones within 20 hours of the start of the sale on September 21 as Flipkart has offers massive offers on a number of good smartphones ranging from premium ones to budget.

The company has even disclosed that this number is twice the number of smartphones the platform sold during the 2016 Big Billion Days sale. Flipkart has also said that these numbers are three times that of the nearest competitor.

This was revealed in Flipkart’s press release which stated, “The mammoth order book is two times the number of smartphones Flipkart sold in the same time-frame during 1 day of The Big Billion Day 2016, and surpasses the total number of smartphones sold across India in a single day, both through online and offline channels, by a big distance. As a measure of comparison, Flipkart managed to sell three times the number of smartphones sold by the nearest competitor.”

Furthermore, the company says that they have received such a response mainly due to the various great schemes which are being offered in the sale.

The company has even disclosed that 1 in every 4 customers is buying a premium phone opts for Flipkart’s Buyback Guarantee. Moreover, the company has pointed that over 80 per cent of the entire sales in the premium smartphones section is happening through the many Flipkart offers like No Cost EMI, Exchange, and Buyback Guarantee.

The Big Billion Days Sale of Flipkart will continue till September 24. From premium smartphones like iPhone 7, Samsung Galaxy S7 to mid-range and budget phones like Moto M, Redmi Note 4, and Mi Max 2 have been given a great discount. Smartphone accessories are also heavy discounted in the sale including power banks, memory cards, earphones, cases, covers and much more.
